About the Hospital
The First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University is a comprehensive tertiary Grade-A hospital integrating medical care, teaching, and research. Founded in 1956, it is located at No. 1 Lishan Road, Urumqi, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. As the first public hospital in Xinjiang to receive JCI accreditation, the hospital has achieved international standards in healthcare quality. Leading specialties include digestive vascular surgery, cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, and hepatobiliary hydatid disease surgery, with 165 cases of ex vivo liver resection and autologous liver transplantation reaching internationally leading levels. The hospital has established 19 MDT expert teams providing multi-disciplinary consultation for complex and difficult diseases. The International Medical Service Department operates cross-border telemedicine connecting over 100 hospitals across nine countries, offering remote consultation and referral services for patients from Central Asian countries. As the clinical college of Xinjiang Medical University, it trains doctoral and master's students and serves as a key member hospital of the Silk Road Economic Belt Core Area Medical Service Center.
