About the Hospital
Children's Hospital of Fudan University, founded in 1952 and affiliated with Fudan University, was designated as the National Children's Medical Center in 2009, shouldering the national-level mission of leading pediatric medicine development across China and ranking among the first batch of National Clinical Key Specialty construction units. Upholding the cultural philosophy of "Everything for Children," the hospital has evolved over more than seven decades into an industry benchmark in Chinese pediatrics. Located at its main campus on Wanyuan Road in Minhang District, the hospital features a comprehensive pediatric specialty system encompassing Neonatology, Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery, Pediatric Neurosurgery, Pediatric Nephrology, and Pediatric Hematology-Oncology, among others. Leveraging the Fudan University platform, the hospital trains large numbers of pediatric talents and bears the teaching responsibilities of the National Children's Medical Center. Multiple specialties including Neonatology, Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery, Pediatric Neurosurgery, Pediatric Nephrology, and Pediatric Hematology-Oncology lead the nation, with neonatal rescue technology being particularly advanced. As early as October 1993, the hospital established its International Medical Center, making it one of the earliest children's specialty hospitals in China to offer international medical services. It currently serves 140,000 pediatric patients from 35 countries annually, equipped with internationally advanced devices including da Vinci surgical robots, PET-CT, and O-arm, providing multidisciplinary team (MDT) consultations, rare disease specialty clinics, and 24-hour emergency services.
