The Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University, also known as Northwest Hospital, is a comprehensive tertiary Grade-A hospital integrating medical care, teaching, and research. As a National Health Commission directly-managed hospital and one of the foreign-service designated hospitals by Shaanxi Provincial Health Commission, its predecessor was the Affiliated Hospital of Peking University Medical College, founded in 1937, making it one of the earliest established medical college affiliated hospitals in China. During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, it relocated to Xi'an with the school, preserving the alias "Northwest Hospital" with profound historical heritage. The hospital holds National Clinical Key Specialty in Dermatology and Venereology with leading advantages in Northwest China, while Gastroenterology, Orthopedics, Cardiology, Neurology, and General Surgery have robust capabilities. As a provincial health commission designated foreign-service hospital, it provides foreign patient ward services and multilingual services for international patients, supporting commercial insurance direct billing. Located at No. 157 West Five Road, Xi'an, in the city center with convenient transportation, it serves as a teaching hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University Health Science Center, training doctoral and master's students with annual outpatient visits among the highest in Northwest China.
