The Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University, also known as Northwest Hospital, is a comprehensive tertiary Grade-A hospital integrating medical care, teaching, and research. As a National Health Commission directly-managed hospital and one of the foreign-service designated hospitals by Shaanxi Provincial Health Commission, its predecessor was the Affiliated Hospital of Peking University Medical College, founded in 1937, making it one of the earliest established medical college affiliated hospitals in China. During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, it relocated to Xi'an with the school, preserving the alias "Northwest Hospital" with profound historical heritage.
