About the Hospital
Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University is a comprehensive tertiary Grade-A hospital integrating medical care, teaching, and research. As the home of Liaoning Provincial Foreign Medical Service Center, it is one of the first designated foreign-related hospitals in Shenyang. Founded in 1883 as the first Western hospital in Northeast China, the hospital has developed over 140 years the spirit of "Benevolence, Dedication, Excellence, and Pragmatism." With three campuses (Nanhu, Huaxiang, Shenbei), over 4,000 beds, 40+ clinical departments, and 5,000+ employees, the hospital holds 16 National Clinical Key Specialties and 18 Provincial Clinical Key Specialties. Leading specialties include General Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Pediatrics. The Liaoning Provincial Foreign Medical Service Center, located in Nanhu Campus, officially opened in 2010 with a 1,000㎡ waiting area and over 10 specialty clinics, providing multilingual services in English, German, Spanish, Japanese, and Korean. Since 2009, it has served over 11,200 foreign patients from 57 countries and serves as the designated hospital for BMW Brilliance and Michelin foreign employees. As the clinical college of China Medical University, it trains doctoral and master's students with over 4 million annual outpatient visits. In 2015, it was designated as "Shenyang International Hospital" and has received National Civilized Unit and National May 1st Labor Medal honors.
