About the Hospital
Sanya Central Hospital (The Third People's Hospital of Hainan Province) was established in 1962, originating from the relocation of Heilongjiang Provincial Farm Hospital to Hainan. It is one of the earliest five tertiary Grade-A hospitals in Hainan Province. The hospital covers 103,600 square meters with 1,800 authorized beds and 1,286 operational beds. It employs 1,729 staff members, including 273 with senior professional titles and 192 with doctoral or master's degrees. As the diagnosis and treatment center for difficult and critical cases in southern Hainan, the hospital boasts five provincial Level-I key specialties: Gastroenterology, Neonatology, Neurosurgery, Radiology, and Pain Medicine. The hospital is recognized by the National Health Commission as an "Advanced Stroke Center" and a national Chest Pain Center, and is part of the International Emergency Rescue Network. On February 5, 2026, the hospital officially became a non-directly affiliated hospital of Hainan University. The hospital has a surgical robot training center and completed over 100 robotic surgeries in 2024, providing internationalized medical support for Hainan Free Trade Port development.
