The Second Affiliated Hospital of Hainan Medical University (Haiyi Second Hospital), originally established in 1952 as Hainan Provincial Farm General Hospital, is a large comprehensive tertiary Grade-A hospital integrating medical care, teaching, research, rehabilitation, and preventive healthcare. The hospital operates across three sites covering 644.7 acres, with 2,500 authorized beds and 3,109 staff members as of May 2025, including 393 senior professionals and 339 doctors with doctoral or master's degrees. The hospital boasts five national key specialties and ten provincial key disciplines, with distinctive advantages in organ transplantation, comprehensive treatment of heart and cardiovascular diseases, emergency critical care, and tropical disease treatment. It houses multiple provincial medical centers including the Hainan Critical Pregnant Women Treatment Center and the Hainan Critical Neonate Treatment Center. In April 2024, the hospital's International Medical Center officially opened, featuring 68 beds and providing multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment, bilingual services, and commercial insurance direct billing services. It has successfully treated international patients from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, South Africa, Russia, the United States, Ireland, and other countries.
